The Adventure Begins

Upon arrival to Arusha, a welcome package including travel documents and a map will be provided to you. While in our care, your safety and security are our number one priority. As such, in the unlikely event of serious illness or injury, all guests are provided with a “Flying Doctors” insurance policy. This emergency evacuation insurance covers the cost of the evacuation flight back to Nairobi for treatment, however, does not cover the cost of any medical treatment received. We highly recommend travel insurance for full coverage.

Kilimanjaro – Arusha

You will be greeted by a private English-speaking guide in the public waiting area of Kilimanjaro International Airport after passing through baggage claim. This guide will transfer you to your hotel and assist with check-in.

Before departing on your first day of activities, a trip representative will meet you at your hotel to discuss the details of your trips and answer any questions you may have.

Arusha – Tarangire National Park.

In the morning you will be collected from your hotel in Arusha and travel overland to Tarangire National Park.

At its peak, the density of mammals in Tarangire NP is higher than anywhere else in Tanzania, or almost anywhere on the whole continent of Africa. You can expect to see big herds of elephants and mighty predators such as lions. Tarangire National Park has some of the highest population density of elephants anywhere in Tanzania, and its sparse vegetation, strewn with baobab and acacia trees, makes it a beautiful and special location. Before the rains, droves of gazelle, wildebeest, zebra, and giraffes migrate to Tarangire National Park’s scrub plains where the last grazing land still remains.

Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast the tour depart to Lake Manyara National Park for game drive. Lake Manyara Park is one of the smaller parks in Tanzania. It covers an area from the north western edge and a large proportion of the lake itself. The lake is the seasonal home to thousands of flamingos, pelicans and more than one hundred other types of birds that also make this lake their home. On the partly forested edges you will find and get a chance to watch the proud elephants with their impressive tusks search for food and go about their daily business. Manyara is not only known for its large flocks of flamingos but also for the elusive tree climbing lions.

Ngorongoro Crater Excursion.

Start your day very early and be one of the first vehicle descending into one of the natural wonders of the world, Ngorongoro Crater. While only a minor remnant of a once mighty mountain, it is still the largest unbroken caldera in the world with a diameter of 16 – 19 km. Almost all species essential to East Africa are present except for the impala, Topi and giraffes.

Its highlights include one of Tanzania’s most sustainable populations of the critically endangered Black Rhinoceros the Ngorongoro Crater has one of the highest density of predators in Africa such as lions, spotted hyena and leopards. By-midafternoon, travel to Central Serengeti, where your next adventure awaits.

Depart for Serengeti National Park. Stop for a privately guided visit to Olduvai Gorge, an archaeological site housing some of the earliest fossilized human bones. Arrive at your lodge and, time permitting, Ride Like a Local on your first game drive in the unparalleled Serengeti. The next day brings morning and afternoon game drives in search of Africa’s Big Five — leopards, buffalo, elephants, rhinos and lions.

Travel to Northern Serengeti by the Mara River where the grass is nutrient-rich and capable of offering the migratory herds a proper supply of food and water. This is the time and place to witness the famous Mara River crossings. See giant Nile crocodiles basking in the sun, waiting patiently in the water for the big migration to enter the area. You will have opportunities to catch thrilling game action or perhaps even witness a river crossing, as the wildebeests and zebras endeavor one of the most difficult parts of their migration journey and cross over to Masai Mara

Departure

Bid farewell to the Serengeti, board a flight in Serengeti with service to Arusha the flight will make several stops along on the way approximate travel time is two hours, upon your arrival transfer to your hotel where a comfortable dayroom awaits. This evening, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departing flights.
